Promoting Health Awareness: College of Pharmacy and Applied Medical Sciences Organizes First Aid Training Program in Conjunction with World Health Day

On the occasion of World Health Day, the College of Pharmacy and Applied Medical Sciences, in collaboration with the College of Medicine at Dar Al Uloom University, organized a specialized training program in first aid under the supervision of Her Excellency Prof. Dr. Samira Al-Sinani, Dean of the College, and Prof. Dr. Ouda Al-Hazmi, Dean of the College of Medicine. The program targeted female students from private and international schools in Riyadh, as part of efforts to enhance health awareness and develop essential skills for handling emergency situations. The program was conducted over two comprehensive days. The first day focused on the theoretical aspect, presenting a structured scientific overview of first aid concepts and skills. The sessions were delivered by Prof. Dr. Susan Naeem, Vice Dean of the College, and Dr. Maha Assal, Head of the Nursing Department, reflecting deep academic expertise and integrated knowledge. The second day emphasized the practical component, implemented in coordination with Prof. Dr. Ouda Al-Hazmi, Dean of the College of Medicine, and Prof. Dr. Abdulmajeed Al-Drees, Vice Dean of the College of Medicine. Female students were hosted at the university facilities, where they were introduced to the Simulation Center and the Virtual Hospital, offering an interactive learning experience based on realistic simulation. The program also included hands-on training sessions delivered by Ms. Maha AlJishi the Head of Respiratory Therapy Department, Ms. Rowaida Quotah and Ms. Shahida Parveen along with the participation of Dr. Ayat Alamassi from the College of Medicine.

Students received training in essential first aid skills and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) according to the latest approved practices. The program witnessed outstanding participation from male and female students of the college who have completed advanced first aid training courses. They contributed to the organization and implementation of the program, demonstrating a strong spirit of teamwork and student excellence. This program reaffirms the College’s commitment to social responsibility, promoting health culture, and empowering community members with the necessary skills to effectively respond to emergency situations.
