Pemarital Screening… Safeguarding Future Generations
The College of Pharmacy and Applied Medical Sciences – Nursing Department conducted a community-based awareness initiative on “Premarital Screening” at
Sharafat Al Nada Complex, on April 9,2026, with the aim of promoting public health awareness and fostering the establishment of healthy families. The initiative encompassed structured educational sessions on the significance of premarital screening and genetic disorders associated with marriage, emphasizing early detection and prevention. It also featured interactive stations for blood pressure and blood glucose assessment, alongside primary health consultations, distribution of educational materials, and a simulated walkthrough of premarital screening procedures. An interactive Q&A segment further enriched participant engagement. The event was distinguished by the active involvement of nursing students in the planning and implementation phases, reflecting the integration of academic knowledge with community service and health promotion practices. This initiative aligns with the college’s strategic commitment to advancing community health education and promoting student engagement in impactful outreach activities.
