DAU organizes Career Counseling Week: Way to Labor Market

Under the title The way to The Labour Market, a vocational guidance week will kick off at DAU on 28-30 October under the patronage of HE Dr. Khalid bin Abdulrahman Al-Hamoudi, Rector of the University of Dar Al Uloom. The aim of the event is to enable students and graduates to make better educational and vocational decisions through an integrated system of professional and vocational counseling services for both male and female students, partners, job seekers, employers and employees. The event’s program includes a number of

purposeful activities including academic lectures and panel discussions led by distinguished experts and specialists from various professional fields. The second day of the program is devoted to individual counseling sessions for graduates and potential graduates with the aim of guiding them about career opportunities appropriate for their personal abilities and ambitions, enhancing their motivation for self-development, and introducing them to the skills necessary to plan their career path in order to achieve their aspirations. The third and last day of the event is devoted to conducting tentative interviews with professionals and experts in recruitment and human resources from various governmental and non-governmental organizations, in order to prepare students for job interviews and identify their strengths and weaknesses and ways to develop them.

On this occasion, HE Dr. Ibtisam Al Othman, Vice Rector for Planning and Development, point out that the event of career guidance week: The Road to the Labor Market, comes in the context of the objectives of the newly established Guidance and Career Development Unit at the University, whose mission is to prepare students and graduates professionally through providing professional guidance of high standards, which will in turn contribute effectively to achieve the goals of the university in developing tits students’ capabilities to discover their talents. Dr. Al-Othman added that registration is available for DAU students and students of other universities through the university’s web site, and urged all those who are interested to attend the event and take advantage of the opportunities offered.
