University Hospital Building

The College of Dentistry is located in Dar Al Uloom University and consists of five floors with a building area of more than 14,000 square meters

1- Clinics

The college contains 200 modern clinics, distributed over three floors. The college also contains private clinics for VIPs and specialized clinics for children.

The dental chair was chosen from the German company, Serona, and it is one of the Antiqua type, which is considered one of the most powerful devices that bear the pressure and work of students on it, and it contains the basic and necessary features that enable the doctor to treat patients.

VIP CLINICS

The chair has a distinctive feature that enables the doctor to treat patients with special needs by changing the direction of the headrest with ease, which enables the doctor to reverse the direction of the clinic, and treat the patient with ease and comfort for the patient and the doctor.

One of the most important features of the chair is that it contains internal filters to prevent large impurities consisting of tooth parts or fillings from entering the drainage passages, which could cause blockages in the hospital’s sewerage. In addition, the chair is equipped with a sanitary system to clean and disinfect water and liquid suction tubes after each patient, which contributes to maintaining a clean environment and free of germs inside clinics, and to prevent the transmission of infectious diseases to workers inside the hospital.

• VIP clinic: The dental chair was chosen for this clinic from the Italian-made Castellini company, equipped with the latest equipment, a screen and an oral camera, to detect and take pictures of the mouth and teeth.

The clinic receives desalinated water without salts to prevent deposits and calcifications inside the medical equipment, which may be adversely affected by these salts.

The floors of the clinics are made of medical vinyl, which is an anti-bacterial material, resistant to scratches and tearing, and is characterized by non-stickiness of dirt and easy cleaning.

The barriers placed between clinics are covered with fire-resistant material and bacteria spread over them, and at the same time easy to clean with detergents and sterilizers for the clinic.

To the right of the dental chair there is a side table fixed to the wall so that the student can put his personal belongings on it away from the patient treatment tools and to the left of the dental chair there is the work table on which the special tools and materials for treating the patient are placed and it is made of granite material that is resistant to acids and most materials Chemical used for cleaning in dental clinics.

The opening and closing of the water is controlled by the foot, in order to reduce the touching of the student’s or doctor’s hand to the clinic’s surfaces, and the place designated for throwing medical waste inside the clinic is opened by pushing the cabin door with the student’s or nurse’s knee, also to reduce hand’s contact with the clinic’s surfaces, thus reducing the possibility of contamination of the clinic with germs And microorganisms according to the protocol established to prevent the spread of infection within the University Dental Hospital.

In addition, each clinic is equipped with its own computer and equipped with a digital system for entering patients’ data and their appointments in addition to their x-ray files, in order to facilitate the student’s communication within the clinic with all the facilities and programs of the University Dental Hospital.

2- Radiology

The college contains an integrated radiology department with the latest equipment, including:

18 x-ray rooms divided into three floors, 6 x-ray rooms, with panoramic and cephalometric rays.

The radiology system in the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Dar Al-Aloom (digital RVJ system) is considered

One of the most recent radiology systems in dentistry. The College of Dentistry has a total of 18 x-ray rooms, and six second-generation panoramic ray units, divided into departments for boys and girls. This system is equipped with software for analyzing the images, so after taking the x-ray image, the image appears within seconds on the computer screen, where it is analyzed and dealt with this digital technology, which allows the images to be enlarged and enlarged.

3- Simulation labs (Phantom)

The simulation laboratories serve the educational and training process for students in the pre-clinical stage. Labs have been designated for Male and Female departments. Phantom laboratories enable students during their pre-clinical years to perform various Dental procedures with clinical situations simulating reality.

Each simulation laboratory is equipped with more than 50 training units for students, and in these units, there are dentinal models affixed to the head of the doll that represents the patient and works on each unit of one student. This unit is equipped with all the features of the real dental chair and a stethoscope is added to it to communicate with the supervisor.

A sophisticated audiovisual communication system gives these laboratories an additional advantage. The central platform for the training supervisor has been assigned and designed to allow for a ceiling camera as well as an intra-oral camera to display details of students’ medical procedures on screens attached to their individual units.

With the help of headphones, students can contact the training supervisor without having to leave their workplace.

The laboratory is also equipped with an imaging unit, which provides students with the necessary skills for radiography techniques before applying them to patients, and advanced digital imaging software, which allows the preservation of x-ray images and their analysis through advanced software tools.

These unique conditions for the simulation laboratories give the student the best experience of pre-clinical learning and training and equip them with the knowledge and skills that will allow them to begin their clinical training with high confidence.

4- Dental Prosthodontics lab

Each lab consists of 62 units, 60 modern equipped units for students, and two of them are for supervisors. Each unit consists of a light source, a hood, an air portal, a low-speed motor, a chair, and special drawers with a protected shutdown system. And each of these plants could be divided in the future into two laboratories to accommodate the equilibrium numbers.

In these labs, it is possible to implement many practical aspects for several academic courses, these courses include both of the following:

Dental Anatomy: Where students learn how to draw and sculpt teeth using wax cubes.

Dental materials (basic and advanced): where students learn how to deal with different dental materials (such as cement, imprint materials, metallic mixtures, various fillings, and monomeric resin), which will be used in future studies in several courses: Mobile dental prostheses, restorative dentistry, and orthodontics.

Fixed prostheses: where students learn all the steps needed to make fixed prostheses, such as: full metal crowns and bridges, porcelain-metal crowns and bridges, full-ceramic crowns and bridges.

Moving Prosthodontics: Where students learn all the steps needed to make movable prostheses, such as: moving full dentures, and partial, moving dentures. Orthodontics: Where students learn how to work with the different types of wires needed to make simple, mobile orthodontic devices.

5- (sterilization laboratory)

The college contains a sterilization center equipped with the latest technology in sterilization.

The sterilization center in the College of Dentistry is one of the most important departments of the college, and all the tools used in the clinics are sterilized in the center after sorting, washing, disinfection and packaging. The center has been equipped with the latest devices with a high operational capacity that meets the hospital’s needs, considering the international standards in the center’s infrastructure. The center employs several sterilization technicians specializing in sterilization procedures and the application of an infection control system according to the latest international standards.

It consists of three units:

1 – Washing and disinfection unit

2- Sorting and Packaging Unit

3 – Sterilization unit
