Scientific Research Ethics

The Local Committee of Scientific Research Ethics at Dar Al Uloom University is registered with the National Committee of Bioethics (NCBE) at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology under No. HP-01-R-134. This registration complies with the Council of Ministers’ decision, which requires each institution to set up a Local Committee of Research Ethics.

Role of the Committee of Scientific Research Ethics

 Promote and disseminate ethical guidelines for scientific research.

  • Develop, review, and maintain rules that govern the ethics of scientific research at the university.
  • Evaluate research project proposals to ensure compliance with ethical standards as per university policies.
  •  Temporarily halt any project if necessary (e.g., if the research team is unable to complete the project as planned, violates the terms of the funding contract, or breaches scientific research ethics).
  • Record approved research for ethical conduct in a database as per the research ethics system and its executive regulations and submit it to the National Committee for Bioethics and Medicine at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology.
