The Scientific Research Unit, COM, DAU was established in 2017 which aims to promote research activities in the College of Medicine by supporting the faculty and students. The Unit also facilitate the collaboration and development of partnership with educational and research institutions, and community at the national and international levels.

SRU aims to Achieve efficiency and effectiveness of scientific research at the college of Medicine. Moreover, SRU aims to enhance the productivity of high-quality scientific research to contribute to the health and community development.

Objectives:

• To encourage scientific research that keeps pace with work needs and Saudi Vision 2030.
• To raise the efficiency and effectiveness of the college as one of the distinguished research units.
• To raise the efficiency and effectiveness of the college as one of the distinguished research units.
• To encourage and guide faculty members and students for publication of scientific research in national and international journals.
• To build partnership and cooperation with educational and research institutions and community at the national and international levels.  

Tasks:

• Review faculty and students research proposals according to the rules and regulations governing scientific research in college of Medicine, DAU.
• Coordinate with the Deanship of Graduate and Scientific Research.
• Monitor the research proposals and research fund allotted by the university for faculty members and students using the research project progress report.
• Monitor and archive all research related activity for faculty and students.
• Encourage faculty members and students to participate in workshops and conferences related to research.
• Arrange research related workshops and collaboration with other prime research institutes.
