About the Unit:
Community service and community partnerships are considered one of the most important primary functions of universities, in addition to providing their basic services related to teaching and scientific research. Today, universities, with their capabilities and resources, are required to play an important and vital role in their local communities.
From this standpoint and in belief in their pioneering, awareness-raising and service role towards society and in line with its vision and mission, Dar Al Uloom University established the Community Partnership Unit, to be the unit responsible for supervising community partnership programs and activities implemented by the university’s colleges and departments with governmental, private and non-profit entities.


Tasks:
1. Setting policies and objectives for community partnership.
2. Following up on the implementation of the university’s community partnership plan, and working to achieve its strategic goals and annual key performance indicators targets.
3. Coordinating with colleges and academic programs in planning and implementing community partnership activities in line with the university’s mission, strategic goals and community needs.
4. Encouraging colleges and academic programs to sign agreements with public and private sector institutions to enhance community partnership and volunteer work.
5. Spreading the culture of interest in community partnership with community members and institutions among university students and staff.
6. Developing mechanisms to encourage faculty members, students and university staff to contribute and participate in community service activities and volunteer work.
7. Encouraging faculty members and students to direct their research towards community problems and issues and to provide therapeutic proposals and solutions for them.
8. Creating communication channels to enhance interaction with community sectors to promote volunteer work and community responsibility at the university and to hold partnerships that enhance this.
9. Providing the local community with the opportunity to benefit from the university’s human and material capabilities, to enhance the university’s pioneering role in serving the local community.
10. Ensuring that all volunteer work carried out by the university or any of its units is recorded on the national platform for volunteer work.
11. Documenting and evaluating community partnership programs and activities and proposing mechanisms for development and improvement.
