The medpath club of the College of Medicine hosted an event ” Influenza vaccine Campaign
As part of Dar Al-Uloom University’s efforts to promote health and preventive practices on campus, and under the patronage of the University President, Professor Khalid Al-Hammoudi, the Student Council at the College of Medicine—supervised by the Masari Medical Club and in collaboration with the Second Health Cluster in Riyadh—organized a campaign titled “Seasonal Influenza Vaccination.” The event was held in the university lobby for both the male and female sections.
Target Group:
- All university staff and their families.
Campaign:
• Raising awareness about seasonal influenza, its symptoms, and modes of transmission.
• Highlighting the importance of receiving the influenza vaccine annually, especially for groups at higher risk of complications.
- Correcting misconceptions and common myths surrounding the influenza vaccine.
A vaccination station was set up in the university lobby under the supervision of the healthcare team from the Second Health Cluster in Riyadh. Beneficiaries were received, provided with a brief medical history assessment, then vaccinated and monitored for a short period afterward to ensure their safety.
Additionally, an educational corner was prepared, which included:
• An educational visual presentation explaining influenza complications and the importance of vaccination as a primary preventive measure.
• A station dedicated to answering attendees’ questions regarding vaccine safety, contraindications, and the recommended annual timing for receiving the vaccine.
A total of 141 individuals benefited from the campaign, with notable positive engagement and strong interest from attendees in asking questions and sharing the information with colleagues and family members.
