The Medicine Student Council hosts an event to raise awareness about mental health

The Student Council at the College of Medicine within Dar Al Uloom University organized an awareness event centered around the importance of mental health. The event took place in both the university theater and the theater lobby, with the participation of college deputies, faculty members, and male and female students.
During the event, a lecture titled “Problem-Dealing Skills” was delivered by Dr. Fatima Al-Haidar, a Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. The lecture witnessed active engagement from both male and female students.
In addition to the lecture, an awareness exhibition was set up in the theater lobby. The exhibition featured pavilions and corners dedicated to raising awareness about mental health and its impact on physical well-being. It emphasized the importance of proper nutrition and exercise in enhancing mental health.
Notably, the Maafah Charity Association actively participated in the exhibition. The association’s focus lies in educating and raising awareness about medicines, their proper use, preservation methods, and assisting those in need of access to medications.
This event reflects the College of Medicine’s commitment to the mental well-being of all university students, particularly those within the College of Medicine. Recognizing that mental health significantly influences academic achievement and helps students cope with academic and clinical pressures, the event serves as a valuable initiative for the university community.
