Student of “Dar Al-Uloom” Awarded for Her Outstanding Project in the Urban Oasis Competition
Yara Al-Khatib, a student in the College of Digital Engineering and Digital Design at Dar Al-Uloom University, won the Saudi Urban Future Program Award “Urban Oasis Competition” on Wednesday (October 17th).
Yara was honored at the closing ceremony of the Urban Planning Forum, in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs, Abdul Latif bin Abdulmalik Al-Sheikh.
The idea of the Urban Oasis prize is about designing a small oasis with three parking spaces where visitors can sit and enjoy the city permanently.
The participants are assessed on the project’s overall beauty, clarity of design goals for the public, service of the elderly and children, security and safety aspects, and other standards.
It is worth mentioning that many university professors, municipal officials, masters’ students, architects, private sector and undergraduate students participated in this competition.
The University of Dar Al-Uloom emphasizes its pride in its students, and declares its encouragement to participate in competitions at various levels and fields.
