Student Council of the College of Medicine Organizes World Alzheimer’s Month Awareness Event
The Student Council of the College of Medicine at Dar Al Uloom University organized an awareness event in recognition of World Alzheimer’s Month, held at River Walk Mall, led by students Rayan Al-Shammari and Dana Al-Rasheedi, under the supervision of Dr. Adel Hussein, and in collaboration with the Saudi Alzheimer’s Disease Association.
The event aimed to raise health and social awareness about Alzheimer’s disease, covering key topics such as general awareness of the disease and its impact, early signs and diagnosis, the importance of family care and support, and reducing stigma while promoting public acceptance of patients.
It targeted a wide range of visitors, focusing on elderly individuals, caregivers, and youth to encourage early preventive awareness. The program featured a consultation corner in cooperation with the association, distribution of educational brochures, and a visual presentation explaining the disease and its effects on individuals, families, and society.
The event witnessed remarkable engagement, attracting over 100 visitors and achieving an estimated 70% positive interaction rate.
