Given the importance of community awareness and to clarify the significant role of various local initiatives, Dar Al Uloom University and the External Events Committee of the Student Council of the College of Medicine held and awarness campaign on Diabetes, led by student: Layan Al-Qahtani.

The event was held at Al-Othaim mall. The students participated as speakers and organizers and addressed several topics, including: Introduction to diabetes and its types, explanation of modern devices for measuring blood sugar, how to adapt with diabetes, methods to calculate carbohydrates and ideas for healthy food.

Dr. Yosef Altwaijri , a consultant in podiatric surgery, also participated in the event, delivering a session on diabetic foot care. Similarly, Dr. Nawaf Almuzaini, a pediatrician, collaborated with the team to explain the challenges of managing diabetes in children, highlighting strategies to support them and their families.

Corners were also designated for measuring blood pressure, blood sugar, eye examination and retina in cooperation with Sehaj Charity Association.

One of the main objectives of the event was to simply explain diabetes to children, where a corner was allocated for them to educate them through drawings, fun, and coloring.
