The Committee of Community Partnership and Linkage with Business Sectors at the College of Business Administration organized a dialogue session entitled “The Strategic Journey in the Age of Globalization and Digitization” as part of the “COB Nights” initiative for postgraduate students. The guest of the hourly session was Dr. Ahmed Suhail Ajina, former Dean of the College of Business Administration at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University.
The dialogue discussed several vital topics, including the introduction to strategy, strategic questions and challenges, strategic construction, strategy evaluation, and strategic implementation frameworks. During the session, Dr. Ahmed provided comprehensive and detailed answers on what is the strategy? Why do we need strategies? How do strategies work? What are the stages of strategic work? (The planning and analysis stage before building
the organization’s strategic plan, then the formulation and construction stage of the strategy, then the implementation stage and achieving the strategic objectives, then the follow-up and measurement stage of the strategy).
During the session, the guest also spoke about the Herman model, the importance of competitive advantage, and how the quality of the strategic plan is evaluated. The dialogue concluded with a discussion on the four perspectives of the balanced scorecard, the strategic map, and the success factors for strategic plans.
At the end of the meeting, the attendees were given the opportunity to ask questions, and then, the Dean of the College of Business Administration thanked and honored the guest for his great insights and effective contribution.
