Accounting Department Celebrates International Accounting Day
The Accounting Department at the College of Business Administration, Dar Al-Uloom University, hosted a special event to celebrate International Accounting Day, attended by faculty members and students.
The event began with a welcome address by Dr. Saeed Baatwah, who highlighted the vital role of the accounting profession in promoting transparency, accountability, and good governance, emphasizing its contribution to achieving Saudi Vision 2030.
A keynote lecture titled “Zakat and Taxation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia” was delivered by Consultant Mr. Hamoud Al-Harbi from the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, discussing recent developments in financial regulations and the accountant’s role in ensuring compliance and enhancing financial efficiency.
The event also featured an interactive Q&A session, where students and attendees engaged in discussions, raised questions about professional challenges, and explored future opportunities in the accounting field, creating a dynamic and enriching experience.
The event concluded with Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Qaed, Vice Dean of the College, honoring Mr. Hamoud Al-Harbi for his valuable contribution, and expressing gratitude to all attendees for their active participation.
