                                                                                    Currently, the university does not provide student transportation, but it does provide a free shuttle service between the university and the nearest train station (SABIC).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

                                                                                    All modern educational technology tools are available at DAU (computers, smart boards, educational platforms and applications, etc.). There are 3,000 hotspots throughout campus, allowing students to communicate from anywhere and get internet access.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

                                                                                    I have a good level of English. Can I be exempted from university preparation?\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

                                                                                    Yes, there is a placement test or an equivalency test for external certificates (IELTS, TOEFL, STEP), and then you are exempt from some English courses in the university preparation program.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

                                                                                    I graduated with a diploma. Is it possible to be exempt from some courses?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

                                                                                    Yes, an equivalent application should be submitted. The Equivalency Committee will consider your exemption from some courses based on the following criteria:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

                                                                                    It is required that the student has studied the course at an accredited college or university.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

                                                                                    • At least 70% of the course content must be the same.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul>
                                                                                      • It is essential that the language of instruction be the same.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul>
                                                                                        • Credit hours must be the same or higher.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul>

                                                                                              A bridging program is available only to nursing diploma holders who wish to obtain a bachelor’s degree.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

                                                                                              Is admission limited to high school graduates?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

                                                                                              DAU welcomes high school graduates and their equivalents from within and outside of the Kingdom. Additionally, it offers bachelor’s degrees to holders of post-secondary diplomas, and master’s degrees to holders of a bachelor’s or post-bachelor’s degree.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

                                                                                              Is there a percentage set for absences from lectures?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

                                                                                              Students must adhere to regulations and standards for the university to fulfill its scientific and educational mission and to achieve the desired level. Discipline and attendance are therefore mandatory and monitored by the course instructor and the university through an electronic attendance system (LMS).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

                                                                                              • If a student arrives to class more than 10 minutes late, he\/she will be marked as \u2018Late\u2019 for that class on the LMS.\u00a0 Each three instances of Late count automatically as one absent.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul>
                                                                                                • If a student arrives to class more than 20 minutes late, he\/she will be marked as \u2018Absent\u2019 for that class on the LMS.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul>
                                                                                                  • Each course requires a minimum attendance of 75% for lectures, practical <\/span>exercises, and clinical sessions.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul>
                                                                                                    • If a student’s absence reaches 10%, SIS will issue a warning.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul>
                                                                                                      • If a student’s absence reaches between 10% and 20%, SIS will issue a second warning.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul>
                                                                                                        • An absence of 25 to 50% will result in a denied grade of “DN” being issued, and the student will not be allowed to take the final exam. The college council may approve the removal of the “DN” if the student provides a valid excuse.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul>
                                                                                                          • An absence exceeding 50% will result in a “DN” without any possibility of removal.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul>

                                                                                                            Does the university offer regular or affiliation study (distance learning)?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

                                                                                                            DAU offers regular study in all majors and levels. Undergraduates have a morning session from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and master’s students have an evening session from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

                                                                                                            Is registration open for the summer semester?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

                                                                                                            Registration is available for a limited number of courses determined by the academic department.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

                                                                                                            Saudi students and non-Saudi students are treated equally in university admission procedures, according to official regulations. Upon acceptance, they must submit the required documents.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

                                                                                                            How is the weighted percentage calculated for university admission?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

                                                                                                            Colleges calculate admission scores based on three admission criteria: high school diploma, general aptitude test, and achievement test. A composite percentage is calculated as follows: 30% high school + 30% general aptitude + 40% achievement. Minimum admission score is specified for each major.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

                                                                                                            Is an English test required after admission?\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

                                                                                                            Yes, students must take an English placement test to determine their level. Exempt students are those who have obtained an IELTS (level 5 or higher) or TOEFL (500 or higher) within the past three years.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

                                                                                                            What does admission to a major mean?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

                                                                                                            Students will specify the major they wish to study during the application process, and their preferences will be evaluated based on their weighted score and the availability of seats in the major. The student is then directly admitted to the major.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

                                                                                                            Will students have access to on-campus housing?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

                                                                                                            There is no housing provided by DAU for students.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

                                                                                                            How will the classroom arrangement look like?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

                                                                                                            The university is committed to providing a suitable and appropriate learning environment to achieve educational goals and to adhere to the values of our society and religion. There are separate study sections for males and females based on resources and the number of students. In advanced academic years with few students, shared classes are established.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

                                                                                                            When should a graduate student take complementary courses?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

                                                                                                            \u00a0In cases where a student is admitted to a program other than his\/her undergraduate major, the proximity between the program he\/she is enrolled in and his\/her undergraduate major is considered to determine required complementary courses. In general, the greater the proximity between two majors, the more complementary courses are required. Student must pass the complementary course from the first time with no less than High Good (C+), provided that the cumulative GPA for all complementary courses is not less than Very Good.\u00a0 Exception given to students who have only one or two complementary courses remaining. They may register for the remaining complementary courses as well as their graduate program courses. In the calculation of the cumulative GPA, complementary courses are not included.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

                                                                                                            Can a student be admitted to two graduate programs simultaneously?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

                                                                                                            Yes, provided the student meets the admission requirements for both graduate programs, the course schedules do not conflict, and both programs are from the same academic stage or are from previous graduate programs, whether in the same college or in two different colleges within the university.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
