The purpose of this test is to determine the level of English language proficiency of students admitted to Dar Al Uloom University programs. It is an electronic test that measures the student’s level in four language skills: reading, vocabulary, grammar, and listening. The adaptive nature of a Computerized Adaptive test means that the completion time, the number and the difficulty level of questions presented will vary from one candidate to another. To reflect his/her English language proficiency, student should take this test seriously and answer it accurately.
Results of the English Placement Test by Score
The placement test results follow the designations demarcated by the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). Most students taking CEPT fall within the A1 – C2 proficiency bracket on the CEFR to test these levels of the CEFR most robustly. This test determines the level of English that the student must study, and there is no pass or fail.
Test Placement Registration
Registration for the English Placement Test occurs after the student has completed his/her registration for the university and paid his/her tuition fees as per the university admission by-laws. A text message will be sent to the student informing him/her of the date of the English Placement Test. The student may retake the English Placement Test up to two times, but not more.
