The College of Business Administration (COB) was established in 2008 among the first Colleges at Dar Al Uloom University with the aspiration to be a leading center of excellence in higher education mainly in teaching and learning, management training, and community services which actively address the needs of stakeholders. The pillars of such vision realization have been high-quality academic programs delivered by eminent faculty members in a state-of-the-art educational infrastructure that deploys advanced technology in teaching and learning, as well as all student-centered administrative procedures.
COB commenced its journey with three bachelor-level programs: namely Bachelor of Marketing, Bachelor of Finance and Banking, and Bachelor of Human Resource Management that were launched, and enrolled students, in the first semester of academic year 2008/2009. By the first semester of the Academic year 2012/2013, and in response to the emerging trends in the Saudi labor market, COB started to offer two master-level programs: namely Master of Business Administration and Master of Management Information Systems. In January 2019, COB launched the Bachelor of Accounting program; and in September 2022, the Master of Project Management program began operation.
The prime element that differentiates COB in the local higher education sector is its quality assurance and management framework. COB achieved accreditation for its bachelor programs in 2021 from the Saudi National Center for Academic Accreditation and Evaluation (NCAAA).
COB constantly invests in its staff as evidenced by the growing proportion of high academic-ranking faculty members and internationally qualified staff joining its faculty. COB also continues to invest in first-class buildings and equipment: teaching facilities, student-learning centers, computers, library resources, etc. COB actively engages with employers and professional bodies to ensure its programs are relevant and up-to-date and provide the best employment opportunities for its students upon graduation. Moreover, COB provides opportunities for continuous professional development to its faculty and administrative staff.
COB seeks every opportunity to enrich the caliber of its students. In this respect, the college continues to establish affiliations with renowned professional bodies to avail their facilities and resources to COB students. Among these are Microsoft Corporation, the Project Management Institute, and Refinitiv (formerly Thomson Reuters) alongside the COOP training-related partnerships.
