Responsibilities<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<table class=\"contentpaneopen\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\">\n<p align=\"justify\">Because\u00a0the student is the\u00a0greatest priority in Dar Al Uloom University, it\u00a0is of course important\u00a0to clarify his\/her rights and duties.\u00a0 These bylaws represent mutual understanding between the university and its students.\u00a0 They\u00a0create awareness of the students\u2019 academic rights and how to\u00a0enjoy such rights as well as\u00a0of their binding duties towards the university.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The student has the right to<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Access the full educational content of our courses in an easy and straightforward manner<\/li>\n<li>Access all services provided by DAU in accordance with University Regulations<\/li>\n<li>Gain\u00a0access\u00a0to faculty members for the purpose of holding\u00a0discussions, within office hours, concerning their academic business<\/li>\n<li>Have full access to degree plans, schedules and course registrations provided by the system<\/li>\n<li>Have faculty attend lectures at scheduled times, manage theoretical and practical lectures effectively, and not cancel any lectures unless announced in advance<\/li>\n<li>Be tested appropriately on subjects covered, and view grades and exam answers in accordance with regulations<\/li>\n<li>Participate in social activities within DAU<\/li>\n<li>Full confidentiality in the maintenance of personal information<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The student is responsible for<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Following\u00a0all University regulations and decisions, and adhering to Islamic values<\/li>\n<li>Attending lectures consistently and\u00a0completing assignments<\/li>\n<li>Presenting University ID within the campus when requested,\u00a0following rules of personal and visual hygiene,\u00a0and\u00a0adhering to\u00a0the appropriate\u00a0dress code<\/li>\n<li>Adhering to academic honesty and\u00a0refraining from plagiarizing at all times<\/li>\n<li>Respecting\u00a0university property, including books, and returning borrowed books\u00a0by the due\u00a0date<\/li>\n<li>Refraining from smoking within the university<\/li>\n<li>Refraining from assembling in classrooms, corridors or restaurants during prayer times, and in unauthorised areas at any time<\/li>\n<li>Paying fees for services where applicable<\/li>\n<li>Treating DAU staff and faculty members with respect<\/li>\n<li>Attending courses where he\/she is registered<\/li>\n<li>Refraining from carrying food or drinks into classrooms, laboratories or libraries<\/li>\n<li>Regularly checking his\/her email and ensuring it works properly<\/li>\n<li>Regularly checking notice boards in the campus and on the systems<\/li>\n<li>Checking his\/her class timetable and ensuring it is free\u00a0from conflicts and\u00a0fits in\u00a0with his\/her\u00a0study plan<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Regarding exams, the student must<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Check exam timetables and be present at the exam venue 30 minutes ahead of time<\/li>\n<li>Understand that he\/she will get a grade of zero if an exam is missed without an\u00a0acceptable excuse<\/li>\n<li>Come prepared for his\/her exams with proper stationery and\u00a0writing implements (pens etc)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>He\/she\u00a0is\u00a0forbidden to<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Enter the exam room\u00a0without showing\u00a0University ID<\/li>\n<li>Enter the exam room\u00a0prior to\u00a0invigilators doing so<\/li>\n<li>Leave the exam room\u00a0within a\u00a0half hour of starting the test, or before attendance has been taken<\/li>\n<li>Use cell phones while in the exam room<\/li>\n<li>Enter the final exam in a course in which\u00a0he\/she has been\u00a0served a DN<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The Academic Affairs Committee<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This committee serves the students in many ways, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinating the academic advising and supporting the academic advisors.<\/li>\n<li>Managing examination including timetabling of exams, proctoring, and the overall supervision of major exams..<\/li>\n<li>Managing student complains and disciplinary procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Managing scholarship applications and coop\/summer training programs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>The Academic Affairs Committee includes in its membership the Dean of Admission and\u00a0Registration\u00a0and the one of the vice deans from each college.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<div><strong>Disciplinary Penalties<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Verbal warning.<\/li>\n<li>Written warning.<\/li>\n<li>Denial of participation in student activities and some university services.<\/li>\n<li>Service to the university social work may be imposed as an alternative penalty.<\/li>\n<li>Enforcing a fail grade in at most 3 courses.<\/li>\n<li>Suspension for at most 2 semesters.<\/li>\n<li>Dismissal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Students Rights and Responsibilities
