Professor Hesham Almoallim, Dean of the College of Dentistry will conduct a workshop on Local anesthesia at the College of Dentistry, King Khalid University, Abha, Saudi Arabia on the 24th of March 2018. The workshop carries the name of Dr. Sulaiman Alshalhoub, his teacher, who died in 2014. The workshop involves a comprehensive course about local anesthesia from anatomy to managing the emergencies at the dental clinics.

The cranial nerves functions and examination

Applied anatomy of the Trigeminal nerve (the 5th cranial nerve)

Neurophysiology of impulse generation, pain pathways and theories

Pharmacology of local anesthetics and vasoconstrictors

Techniques of maxillary anesthesia

Techniques of mandibular anesthesia

Special considerations in local anesthesia

Managing emergencies at the dental clinic

In the past years, the workshop was conducted at several universities in Saudi Arabia and abroad.
