Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program

  1. OVERVIEW OF THE MBA PROGRAM

The proposed MBA program presented in this document will have the following key characteristics:

  • All courses in the program will be taught in English. Accordingly, students should be prepared for the rigors of graduate study in the English language
  • It will be a program with five concentration areas, namely; Human Recourse Management, Finance, Marketing, Information Systems, and Leadership.
  • The program is structured to have a core (required) and an elective component.
  • The proposal is for a total of 45 credit hours of course work, divided into 36 credit hours of core (required) courses and 9 credit hours of elective courses in six concentration areas.

The program will focus on developing the management knowledge and skills of its graduates to enable them take leadership positions in organizations.

The MBA program was developed using the following points of reference:

  1. The National Qualifications Framework for Saudi Arabia.
  2. The accreditation standards of the NCAAA.
  3. The curriculum management standards of AACSB International (the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business).
  4. Benchmarking of the top 10 MBA programs in the world.
  1. CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

The MBA program is designed for early- and mid-career professionals who wish to build upon their undergraduate education and early work experiences by enhancing their knowledge of modern management theory and developing the skills needed to address contemporary issues facing leaders and managers in Saudi Arabia and the global economy.

The MBA is particularly suitable for holders of non-business baccalaureates who either (1) find themselves in positions requiring managerial expertise and business acumen, or (2) aspire to move into management positions through adequate academic preparation.

 

Management information system (MMIS)

 

Overview of the (MMIS) program:

The following key characteristics are embedded in the proposed (MMIS) program for DAU

  • The (MMIS) program is based, structured, and benchmarked as per international and Saudi Arabian standards.
  • The program will have foundation, core, and elective courses.
  • The students have to complete (45) credit hours to graduate (see attached tables).
  • Elective courses are made flexible to provide depth and breadth; which allows students to take electives from any of stream such as proposal (MBA) program.
  • The medium of Language is English, therefore it is expected that students attain sufficient Level of efficiency in English
  • Full-time students will be able to complete the program in two years, whereas part-time students can complete it within three years, if they pace it according to stipulated guidelines
